After a player has completed a game of blackjack and indicated that they have finished to the dealer, winnings can be collected.

As the game is played with betting chips, no cash is exchanged at the blackjack table. By following etiquette, the procedure can be done quickly and without fuss.

This is done politely and at a suitable pause at the end of a round. The player may find that they have a number of low denomination chips. If this is the case then the dealer or croupier can be asked to change them for higher denomination ones, which makes managing the stack much easier.

The player takes all of their chips and places them on the table but outside of the betting circle or rectangle. If this isn’t done correctly, then these chips can be mistaken for another bet and if the round starts you cannot ask for those chips back.

The dealer will then count the chips and exchange them for the casino chips. While there is usually a cash box at the blackjack table for you to purchase chips, winnings will always be returned as casino chips. These can then be used for another casino game or alternatively taken to the cashier area and exchanged for cash.
