When you have converted your cash into betting chips from the croupier or dealer, players can then settle down at the blackjack table and begin to play their first round.

Chips are colour coded from white for $1, red for $5, green for $25, black for $100 and purple for $500.

To place your own bet, there is a rectangle or circled area in front of you. Bets must be placed before each round begins.

These should be stacked neatly in the centre of your betting circle, with the largest denomination of chips at the bottom.

Once the round begins, the player cannot touch their bet. Blackjack games can be either face up or face down. In the face up game the player cannot touch their cards and in the face down game only one hand should be used to touch the cards.

At the end of the round, the dealer will pay each player their winnings or collect the losing bets and this is done so in order.

After the dealer has paid the dividends and collected losing bets, the player is then allowed to place his bet for the next round by taking the chips from their stack.
