Casino comps come in all variety of different shapes and sizes. From a meal ticket that may be worth a mere $15, a night’s stay or two in the casino’s hotel, free tickets to a dazzling show, all the way up to and including airline tickets and first class limousine services. As you can see, the range in value of the comps can be significant, from a token giveaway, to something worth many thousands of dollars.

Many casinos expect at least 3 or 4 hours play minimum, with average bets of at least $25 in order for a player to qualify for any level of comps. Of course, every casino is different, and some casinos may require less, and some may require more.

Comps are very individual, and vary significantly between casinos. Some players have found they have to be persistent and hound to get comps, others get them without even having to ask. All casinos however are very adept at knowing your true state of play all the time, that is, how long you have been playing, what you have been playing, and most importantly how much you have been betting. Remember, casinos have more surveillance cameras than Fort Knox.

There are in fact casino players who are far more interested in getting comps than factoring the real cost into their money management plan. They don’t take into account the real cost in dollar terms that the comp has really cost them. These kinds of people seem to love the 5 star VIP treatment, and do not care at all what it has really cost them in table losses, just as long as they get that comp. no matter the cost.
