Deal
When the cards are given to each player by the dealer.
Dealer
This is the person who controls the table, deals the cards, takes the bets and is also called the banker.
Dealing Seconds
A cheat done by dealers who deal the second card if the top card means they will lose.
Deck Penetration
Refers to the percentage of cards played from a shoe or deck before reshuffling.
Dime
A dime is $10 chip which is usually blue.
Dime Bet
Dime Bet is a bet for $1000 the chip for this is usually orange or yellow.
Discard Tray
The tray where cards are put after they have been used and played in a game.
Dollar Bet
A bet for $100 and the chip is black for this bet.
Double Deck
Blackjack that is played from a shoe containing two decks that have been put together.
Double Down
This is a betting option that allows the player to bet on one card that the dealer will give. The bet is that they will have as close to 21 in three cards and that the dealer will bust before he can beat it.
Double Exposure
Double Exposure is a phase that is given to the hand when the dealer’s cards are played face up.
Double Up
A name that is synonymous with the Martingale System that sees a player double the size of his bet after a loss. This system is not infallible and needs to be thought through seriously before being used.
Downtown Vegas
The old part of Las Vegas has casinos that offer better odds for players and Blackjack players refer to this term when they receive better odds.
Draw
This is also called a Hit when you are playing Blackjack.
Drop
The total amount wagered in a casino at any time
