Blackjack Tips and Strategies 6-10
Never tell other players how to play Blackjack at the table. Even if you believe you are telling them the correct way to play blackjack. Not only will they not appreciate it, they won’t believe you either. It is also considered to be very bad table etiquette. Remember, you are playing against the dealer only. Unless you are counting cards, it should be of no importance to you what the others players’ cards are in front of them. Concentrate on your game only.
Never pay attention to other people who are trying to tell you how to play your Blackjack hand. These people will only cause you to be distracted, and it will take away the focus of your game. Concentrate on applying your own basic strategy only. Do not get swayed by emotions, gut feelings, hunches or other people trying to tell you how to play your hand.
Never deviate from your basic Blackjack strategy based on a gut feeling. In a game of Blackjack the math and probabilities do not change just because you suddenly have a sudden hunch that the next card may be an Ace. Always stick to your strategy. Accept that you will not win every hand, nor will you lose every hand. Winning and losing are both parts of the game of Blackjack.
As a cardinal rule, if you are dealt two Aces, or two eights, you should always split them.
Unlike Aces and eights, if you are dealt two fours, fives, or tens, you should never split them.
