Blackjack Tips and Strategies 1-5

Always appreciate that Blackjack has some of the best odds of any of the casino games, and this is so even if your not skilled at counting cards. Your odds will change based on the playing situation, but nearly all casinos offer a Blackjack game with a house advantage of between 0.5% and 1%, if you are playing with a perfect basic strategy.

Learn a very basic strategy and stick to it. In casino blackjack, when players talk about a basic strategy, they are talking about the mathematically correct play in every given hand.

Learn how to count cards. Counting cards is not as hard as you think. You are not actually tracking individual cards, but instead, you are giving certain cards a value, and keeping a running tally that represents the ratio of high to low cards. If there are more high cards left in the deck, then you are more likely to get a Blackjack, so bet bigger.

Do not ever play 6/5 Blackjack odd. In a normal Blackjack game, a Blackjack pays odds of 3 to 2. This is one of the reasons the odds and payout percentages for the game is so generous. But in 6/5 Blackjack, the casino will only pay $6 for every $5 you bet.

Do not play Blackjack if the casino charges a fee to play a hand. Although not so common these days, these kinds of casinos do still exist. In some casinos, they will charge perhaps 50 cent per hand to play. Whilst this might not seem like much at first, it certainly does add up over time, and gives the house an enormous advantage. Or to put it in perspective, if you are playing $5 hands, you are giving 10% back to the house on each hand.
