Blackjack Probabilities 3

Playing any game at a casino it is important to know the rules and strategies. Blackjack has many probabilities that are in place and have been calculated in percentages which show the advantage to the player or house. We have looked at several which include the percentage when the dealer’s card is visible and the chances of going bust on a certain number. Here are some more that are useful.

Another probability that is very useful is that of the player’s advantage when they see the dealers cards.

For example, if a dealer is holding a 2, then the probability of the dealer going bust is 35.30%. This gives an advantage to the strategic player of 9.8%. The percentage that the dealer will bust falls as the card value rises. If the dealer has a 9 value card visible then the probability of him going bust is 23.34% and the advantage to you drops to –4.3%. The value cards 4,5,6 have very high probabilities of going bust but drop significantly with the higher cards.

When the cards have been dealt then it also can effect the probabilities as some cards have more impact than others. If all the 5 value cards are gone then this is good for the player but if the Aces have gone then the advantage lies with the dealer.

The advantage to the house can be reduced to as low as 1% and this is important when you are playing Blackjack. The more you know the more you will benefit long term. Remember online casinos let you practice games for free so there is the place you can practice.
