Blackjack Explained – Surrender

Somewhat uncommon, but some Blackjack tables may allow players to surrender their bets after commencement of the hand. This involves ending or giving away your hand when you think you have a poor one. When you surrender, you give to the house half of your original bet only, you take back the other half. It is very important to remember though, that if you want to surrender your bet, you must make the decision timely and before any other cards are dealt. In some circumstances, some casinos have been known to allow for late surrenders, but this is very rare indeed.
