Blackjack Explained – Cashing In
You may be sitting at the Blackjack table and all of a sudden you notice that you have accumulated a large amount of casino chips, possibly in small denominations, say $5 chips for example. If this is the case, you may choose to do what is known as ‘colour up’, or ‘colour change’. This basically means that you are changing some of your smaller chips for larger chips, say ten $5 chips for one $50 chip.
If you want to change the denominations, simply place the chips to be changed in front of you, and ask the dealer for a “colour up”, or a “colour change”. Although you can buy chips at the Blackjack table, you cannot cash them in for cash at the table. If you want to cash in your chips for cash, then you must leave the table and change them at the cashier.
