Blackjack Explained – Buying Chips
When placing a bet on a hand of Blackjack, you will need to use casino chips only. You do not bet with cash. You can purchase your chips from the dealer. Most people when purchasing chips will usually buy an amount of 10 to 20 times of what they intend their average bet to be.
When you take your place at the Blackjack table, you should first wait for a break between hands before placing your money in front of you on the table. This indicates to the dealer that this is the amount you want exchanged for casino chips. You should never hand the money to the dealer directly. In fact, this is against casino rules. Nothing must change hands directly between the players and the dealer.
Casino chips will have different colours depending upon their face value. They will also have the dollar amount printed on them as well.
